I was hoping to get some input of the kinds of mods that Survival mode players enjoy. There are tons that basically destroy the vanilla experience by bringing in overpowered items, cheap powerful items and ugly utility mods.

These are the ones I am currently using and why: Backpack (much needed for exploration and extended mining) ColourfulPortals (the only teleport mod I've found that natural to gameplay) RingsOfPower(Not ideal but I feel the game needs a touch more magic) Thaumcraft 4 (By far the best and most balanced magic mod I've found) DungeonPack (More structures and dungeons to explore) RedstoneTools (Not ideal but with so much redstone available it seems like more uses are needed. Also, all the lapis mods I've tried seemed buggy or silly) ZombieLeather (Because it shouldn't take 4 or more cows to make a pair of leather boots. Come on, it's leather not diamond!) MiningHats (Because, hey, more hats!) GlowstoneWire (Just seemed like a nifty use for Glowstone dust. You don't really use that much making potion.) ExperienceChest (Banking experience just makes good sense, even if there is a some lost in translation)
Also, of course, I have Forge, OptiFine, and Zan's Minimap installed.
Which ones are you using in survival and why?

The creatures and animals in Minecraft, which are also known as mobs play a massive part in your game. They’re used for farming materials, but also make travelling at night extremely dangerous. Orca exe to msi download.
After a while, the game might feel easy and repetitive. That’s when its a good time to start modding and adding new creatures to the world. Having new animals to hunt, and new animals hunting for you makes Minecraft interesting and exciting again.
That’s why below, we’re going to show you some of the best animal, creatures and mobs mods available for Minecraft. All these buttons link back to Curse Mods where you can download them.
Ice and Fire: Dragons
This mod adds two types of dragons to your Minecraft game world. These are Fire and Ice dragons. Fire dragons can be found in any habitable biomes, and will breathe fire to cause massive destruction. Whilst Ice dragons will be found in cold biomes and will freeze any enemies to death. The mod also adds other new mythical creatures as well as locations so that you can obtain your own dragons and create tools.
Mo’ Creatures
Mo’ Creatures has been around for a long time, and usually shows up in most mod packs due to the amount of new mobs and interactions it adds to your Minecraft game. In total, this mod adds over 40 new mobs to the game which all have their own behaviour and AI. Some can be tamed so that you can ride them, whilst some will attack you on sight. It’s a great mod to make your world feel more alive.
JurassiCraft
If you’re a big fan of the Jurassic Park/World franchise, then you’ll love this mod. What it allows you to do is breed your own dinosaurs by collecting DNA from Amber, just like in the movies. You can extract the DNA to make your own baby dinosaurs using equipment in a lab you will need to build. The mod adds 10 dinosaurs, new plants, machinery, decorations, vehicles, fossils and skeletons.
Chickens
Simply put, Chickens adds a lot of new types of Chickens to your Minecraft game. Chickens can now lay unique items such as gun powder or bone meal, whilst you can also cross-breed them to increase stats. You can also dye chickens to change the colour, level them up to increase tiers until you eventually reach diamond chickens, build a hen house to collect resources laid and much more.
Animania
Animania is a mod that aims to improve the immersion and realism in Minecraft. It does this by changing passive animals in the game by adding multiple breeds, genders, new behaviours and species. Some of the new behaviours includes keeping animals happy, which you must do by keeping them provided with a source of food and water. Whilst animals that are attacked will run for a while, whilst some will even fight back.

Hey guys could you help me with some mods for survival that make it a little bit more intersting.
I was away from minecraft since 1.6 so i am not up to date with mods, and survival mode is definitively my favourite way of enjoying minecraft.
Yes i know about FTB and all those fancy mods that add a shit ton of things, but no, i don't want something that complicated, just some mods that add little nice details to have more things to do, like adding more villages and ways of interacting with different villagers, more ores and maybe 1 or 2 extra mobs that don't really make me feel like i have to re-learn MC just to play with a mod pack?

Best Minecraft 1.12 Mods
Minecraft 1.12 for the PC has a thriving modding community, and many consider some mods absolutely essential. Whether you want a recipe book for all of your favorite Minecraft 1.12 meals, or something to help you with crafting, there are tons of Minecraft 1.12 mods out there for you. Check out the best Minecraft 1.12 Mods.
Journeymap is one of the oldest mods out there, but it’s still considered by many as essential. What it does is simple – it generates a map as you travel, viewable by you via either an in-game map interface or a browser window. It has two modes, Fairplay and Unlimited. Fairplay mode disables cave mapping and radar in multiplayer, but with unlimited, everything is allowed.
Jan 22, 2015 - Yes, that's right, you can now play The Sims 4, completely free., thanks. The Sims 4 to your Origin Game Library and get 48 hours of Simming. How to get the sims for free. 2 days ago - Where can I download the game The Sims 4 on PC for free? How do I get The Sims 4 game and all its DLCs for free? How can I get free expansion packs on The Sims 4?
Next up is another of possibly one of the most necessary mods any Minecraft 1.12 pro will use. JEI is an inventory manager and recipe viewer that lets you see the recipe of any item at all just by opening your inventory. If you’re in creative mode, it also lets you spawn in the item really easily too, in a more efficient way than the base creative mode allows. This mod is truly essential for anyone who’s played Minecraft for a significant amount of time.
Draconic Evolution adds a ton of endgame-level items to your Minecraft in order to spice up your gameplay once you’re reaching the end of the base game. It begins simply – you need to find Draconic Ore, but it ends up enabling you to make huge structures for teleportation, mob farming, time and weather manipulation, and so much more. This mod is a really cool addition to Minecraft 1.12, so check it out.
Have you ever wanted to make your Minecraft experience more realistic? Immersive Engineering does just that, by adding a number of new features and technologies into the game. Essentially, the mod adds loads of new methods of power generation and ways to get higher and better yields for your items. You can set up massive waterwheels, windmills, bio-diesel and more – and set up massive multi-block structures that allow you to up your mining and crafting ante. It’s also compatible with mods like Buildcraft, and is a staple in many of the larger modpacks – but unfortunately many of these aren’t available for 1.12 yet.
If you’re not into machinery so much, and farming’s more your thing, Pam’s Harvestcraft is a must-download for Minecraft 1.12. It introduces tons of new ways to make use of the land around you agriculturally – 60 new crops, beekeeping, markets, and so much more. It also adds a few quality-of-life changes to base-game farming which, once you get used to, you’ll never want to go back.
RFTools is essentially a way for you to ease day-to-day life in Minecraft, especially for those of you who know your way around redstone usage. It’s meant to be included with other mods like Thermal Expansion, but that isn’t quite available in Minecraft 1.12 yet – worry not, though! This mod still has some great stuff you can use without anything else. The coolest part about this mod, aside from all of the other stuff you can make like automatic crafters, is probably teleporters – enabling you to quickly teleport around your home, making you feel like a Star Trek character.
In order to use this mod, you’ll also need another primer mod, which is linked below. This mod also enables you to do something even cooler in another mod, which we’ll get to very soon…
Ender Storage is a really simple mod that makes a huge difference to how you play Minecraft 1.12. Essentially, what it does is allows you to make special storage items that are linked to each other, even across dimensions, based on their color. It’s not just chests, either – you can make pouches that are directly linked to your chests at home, allowing you to bring much more, and feel much safer, when you go spelunking. There are EnderTanks, too, which stores liquids created from other mods, letting you have access to almost unlimited quantities of whatever liquid you want. This Minecraft 1.12 mod has been around for quite a while now, and is still one of the most popular in the modding community – and for good reason.
Steve’s Carts Reborn is a remake of an old favorite mod – Steve’s Carts. This Minecraft 1.12 mod allows players to automate their lives in the most Minecraft-esque fashion possible – with Minecarts. It lets you assemble carts from scratch that have loads of different types of functions – from power, to harvesting, to mining. If you’re looking for ways of automation that don’t involve all the complex machinery that mods like IndustrialCraft brings, then Steve’s Carts Reborn was practically made for you. It needs another mod to enable it to get up and running, though – Reborn Core, which essentially allows this and a few other mods to work with your version of Minecraft. It’s easy to install, and will only take a few extra moments to sort out.
Unhealthy content index count in word. Another extremely simple mod here, but one that does wonders for automation, if you don’t want to have all the complicated machinery mods out there. Even then, this mod works fantastically with those – Hopper Ducts adds two simple items into the game: hopper ducts and grated ducts. They are both modifications of normal hoppers, allowing you to transport items in any direction, instead of being restricted only to left, right, and down. Grated ducts allow you to filter the process, so only certain items can move through one direction of the duct, allowing you to easily move things to the place you intend without it being too complicated. It’s an incredibly simple Minecraft 1.12 mod, but the effect it has is tremendous.
Actually Additions adds loads of new items to Minecraft 1.12 which, once you begin playing, will make you wonder how you ever played without them. At the core of everything here is a new ore, black quartz, which lets you craft a number of the new things in the mod. Aside from this, there’s loads of new automation options and smaller quality-of-life changes, like lamps, tiny coal, and storage crates. Power is a big function of this mod, like with IndustrialCraft 2, so you’ll want to make the decision on which to pick based on the stuff you like in each mod. There’s so much stuff in Actually Additions that it’s impossible to talk about them all, but you can check all the stuff out by heading below.

Wawla is a mod that does something very small - it adds a little window at the top of the screen which tells you what you're looking at. This might sound useless, but it'll actually fast become an essential part of your Minecraft experience - especially when used in conjunction with other mods. It tells you what you're looking at, and any extra information that might be necessary - for example, what tool you'll need to mine an ore, what mod this item belongs to, who's cat this is. Still not convinced? Give it a try, you definitely won't regret it.
